Art surrounded by Legends and Wilderness – A creative workshop from Sunday the 27th of September until Saturday the 3rd of October 2009
This workshop and seminar is presented by the International Outsider Art Biennale in Arvika, Inuti, Stockholm and Rackstad Museum, Arvika, Sweden
The Workshopen is foremost for artist with learning disabilities and their assistants.

The participants will fly to Oslo (Gardemoen) on the 27th September 2009 where there will be a free transfer to Arvika. Some of the participants will of course choose to come earlier for the Opening of the International Outsider Art Biennale on the 26th September.

Sunday
Assembly. During the common dinner there will be information given about Arvika, the Rackstad Museum and the workshop.
Monday
10.00. Guided tour of the museum, Outsider Art Biennale and the museum surroundings.
Everyone will take part in a workshop with guidance from Lotte Nilsson Välimaa and Cilla Ramnek, Byta Blick.
Cirkulate/cirkulera - material in cirkulation
Plait and sew round constructions, a happening with the startpoint in goneby carpet tradition.
Lunch “soup de jour” in the museums café.
In the afternoon we will continue with the workshop in the museum.

Tuesday
10.00. The workshop continues.
A short story with ”värmländsk” connection.
Evening arrangement: a raft trip.
Wednesday
10.00. Seminary day: A possiblilty to follow lectures about art, creativity and intelligence. Roger Cardinal, professor in art history from England who created the term outsider art will give a historical sweep throw earler definitions of european selftaught art and pioneer in art history as Gauguin, to the rich supply that is flowing from studios for artists with disabilities today. The day will end with panel discussion and it will be a possibility for the floor to interact in the discussion.
The same day it will be a parallel workshop in needle felting with guidance by Chang Im Ohlsson and Ulrika Carlstedt from Inuti.

Thursday
10.00. Seminary day: Looking for ITE art. Raija Kallionen, coordinator of Cultural affairs, Union for rural culture and education, Helsingfors. She is telling the exciting story about how she and her colleague Liisa Heikkila-Palo search and found unknown artists in Finland that didn´t even see themself as artists. And how they found possibilities to show their creativity for a larger audience, and how this grow as a fenomen called ITE art.

A conversation under the guidence of Elena Vuorimen from Österbottens museum in Finland with Olle Nessle och Raija Kallionen.
In the afternoon there will be a discussion about International/European networking with guidence of Helena Petersson. We will all share our professional experiences and discuss what our work in the future should look like.
There will be a parallel workshop in needle felting with guidance by Chang Im Ohlsson and Ulrika Carlstedt from Inuti.
Farewell evening with dinner and music.
