Even objects and matter can tell us stories. Join the workshop in which we will explore different ways how to listen to silent stories of materials and the world around us. 

The workshop will take place on the following dates: October 12, 2022 (16:00–17:30) & October 20, 2022 (16:00–18:00 & bonfire).
The venue is Kolonin at Kyrkogatan 42, Arvika.

During the first part of the workshop, we will work with clay, which we will transform into an original listening object to be used during the second part of the workshop. Second part of the workshop will take place outdoors and will be closed with a bonfire.

Participants should bring to the workshop a small bowl from their home that they have connected with a certain memory – for example, with their childhood, with their relatives, with some event.

Anyone who is not afraid to explore new things and experiences is welcome to participate. Children should be accompanied by their parents or grandparents, even the whole family can participate.

Lecturer of the workshop:

Šárka Zahálková is an artist, curator and activist from the Czech Republic. She is interested in the topic of art in relation to public space, whether in physical or figurative terms. Her art range includes drawing, time-based media, installations, sound art and community oriented participative projects. She studies PhD program — Visual Arts — on the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and is the Fulbright – Masaryk Alumna (New York, USA). Conscious listening is to her a path to higher sensitivity.
